- Colombia está peleando para hacer parte del Foro APEC (Participación Económica Asia-Pacífico), porque saben que 46% del comercio mundial pasa por el Pacífico. Hasta van a meter plata para mejorar la carretera Buenaventura-Buga para convencer a los del APEC que Colombia merece inclusión en su club. Obviamente el APEC quiere ver infraestrucura y el gobierno está listo a mostrar su compromiso a ella pero uno se pregunta cuando el gobierno colombiano se va a enterar que la infraestructura y la seguridad son imposibilidades para Buenaventura si no meten plata para lo social. Tengo la sospecha que preferirían construir un puerto completamente nuevo (ojalá no poblado sino por militares y robots) en Tribugá, Chocó, para así dejar que Buenaventura se hunda en los manglares. - Colombia is fighting to be part of the Apec Forum (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation), since they know that 46% of world trade passes through ther Pacific. They're even going to invest money in the Buenaventura-Buga highway to try and convince the APEC boys that they deserve to join the club. Obviously infastructure is what APEC wants to see and the Colombian government is willing to show their commitment to building infrastructure. Still, I wonder when the Colombian government is going to realize that a stable and functioning infrastructure and the security to use them are impossibilities, at least for Buenaventura unless they spend some money on social concerns. But, I have the nagging suspicion that they'd rather just construct a completely new port in Tribugá, Chocó (hopefully populated solely by soldiers and robots), and just let Buenaventura sink into the swamp.
