Musicology gig in Holland

The Department of Art, Culture and Society at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands seeks a three month popular music teaching replacement for a short-term research sabbatical. The position would begin in April 2010 and last until the end of June 2010. The three courses given during this period include: History of American Popular Music, Popular Music Research Methodologies and Theories, and European Popular Music in Cultural Context. All courses have prepared syllabi, research materials, textbooks, articles, PowerPoint's and exams. The position pays ca. 6000 euros after taxes. One course is taught in English and the other two can be taught in English or Dutch. Two courses meet once per week and the other meets twice per week.
Interested candidates should either have a Ph.D. in ethnomusicology, musicology or cultural studies with an emphasis upon popular music or should be in their final stages of dissertation writing. Interested candidates should contact Kristin McGee at kamcgee32@yahoo.com.
