Sanpachando ("SAN PACHO ES PA'L QUE LO GOCE") explores the afro-ethnic, religious, and cultural meaning of a festival honoring Saint Francis of Assisi. Through music, dancing and first hand accounts, the documentary vividly encapsulates aspects of the social, religious, and political foundations that hold the festival together. It examines both its material and symbolic expressions. Musical montage, local commentary and interviews weave a narrative of survival, told from the perspective of a robust afro-cultural identity. Located in Quibdó, Chocó, (a city on the northern part of the Colombian Pacific coast) this community reveals a history of marginalization and resilience that contests its own segregation and exploitation. In this sense, Sanpachando offers a different vision of what it means to be and to feel Colombian.

"San Pacho es pa'l que lo goce" (© 2006, título en inglés: Sanpachando: San Pacho is for the Revelers), dir. por Daniel Mosquera y Sean Ferry examina algunos de los significados afro-étnicos, religiosos y culturales de las fiestas de San Pacho en Quibdo, Chocó. Gracias a un montaje musical, testimonios locales, teatro callejero y danzas que enfocan expresiones simbólicas y materiales de la región, este documental crea una imagen vívida de las bases sociales, políticas y religiosas de las fiestas de San Pacho. Narrado desde una robusta perspectiva etno-regional el documental penetra en una historia de supervivencia y creatividad. Es así como San Pacho es p'al que lo goce genera una visión única, con todo y sus contradicciones, de lo que significa ser y sentirse colombiano.
